Understanding the Four Education Credential Levels
The four levels are mutually exclusive and cover all 25–64-year-olds (total ≈ 100%)
Bachelor+
Share of 25–64-year-olds with a bachelor's degree or higher (master's, doctorate, etc.). The primary indicator of highly-educated talent concentration — typically correlated with higher income and skilled employment.
Postsecondary
Share of 25–64-year-olds with a college diploma or trade/vocational certificate below the bachelor level. Captures those who completed formal postsecondary training without a university degree.
High School
Share of 25–64-year-olds whose highest credential is a high school diploma or equivalent — completed secondary education but did not pursue further postsecondary study.
No Certificate
Share of 25–64-year-olds with no certificate, diploma, or degree — did not complete high school. A higher share typically signals greater barriers to employment and income in the community.
Note: All four metrics use the 25–64 age group as the denominator, excluding students still enrolled below age 25. This more accurately reflects the education profile of the working-age population.
