- South Asian origins grouped together—e.g. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal. There is no separate “India-only” percentage in this census table.
- Filipino
- Filipino visible minority identity as published by Statistics Canada (its own category, separate from “Southeast Asian”).
- Black
- Black visible minority identity; various African and Caribbean backgrounds are reported under this census category.
- Arab
- Arab visible minority identity (cultural/ethnic origins classified as Arab in the census).
- Latin American
- Latin American visible minority identity—Central/South American and related Latino origins as Statistics Canada defines for this variable.
- Southeast Asian
- Southeast Asian origins excluding Filipino—for example Vietnamese, Cambodian, Lao, Thai, Indonesian, Malaysian (Philippines uses the Filipino button above).
- West Asian
